PAGSASABUHAY: Performance and Life Education in the 21st Century (Arrival of Delegates)

Philippine High School for the Arts students and faculty arrive in Guang Ming College

GUANG MING COLLEGE- Pagsasabuhay Conference had started the registration on May 24, 2019 at one o’clock in the afternoon.

The first batch who had arrived was the students and faculty of the Philippine High School for the Arts. They were welcomed and received by the Guang Ming College students at the front door of the building with Venerable Miao Xin, Conference Director and Ms. Terrie Martinez, Planning and Organizing Adviser.  After that, they went up to 5th Floor Prajna Hall to sign up for the registration. They also attended the orientation which was held at 6th Floor Audio Visual Room (AVR).

 The said orientation was led by the Guang Ming College accommodation committee. The orientation aims to let the students and faculty be aware of procedures in the temple and Guang Ming College.

Community rituals to be performed by the students from Guang Ming College and Philippine High School for the Arts

 The Philippine High School for the Arts (PHSA) students and faculty together with the Guang Ming College Performing Arts students and faculty had their rehearsal for the community rituals on May 24, 2019 at around five o’clock in the afternoon in the 5th Floor Prajna Hall.

The rehearsal was held at the 5th Floor Prajna Hall. It was led by Sir Joseph Keith Anicoche, PHSA coordinator and also attended by Guang Ming College faculty of Performing Arts, Philippine High School for the Arts faculty, Venerable Miao Xin-Conference Director, Ms. Terrie Martinez-Planning and Organizing Adviser, Guang Ming College Performing Arts students, and other committee and staff of the Pagsasabuhay Conference.

The rehearsal was intended for both students from the Philippine High School for the Arts and Guang Ming College to create a community ritual.

After the rehearsal, Ms. Terrie Martinez, Planning and Organizing Adviser had some announcement and told the students to go down to have their dinner at the Ground Floor Dining Hall.

May 24, 2019- Philippine High School for the Arts students had their dinner at the Ground Floor Dining Hall together with the Guang Ming College students at exactly 6 o’clock in the afternoon.

Before the students went inside the Dining Hall, they lined up outside together with the Guang Ming College students. The students were guided by the accommodation committee to do the proper line up.

The students had tried to use the chopsticks instead of choosing the pork and spoon as their new experience. Venerable Miao Xin, Conference Director had guided the students on how to eat mindfully and how to behave in the Dining Hall.
